What are the benefits of a Bridal Dressing Service?

A bridal dressing service ensures your gown is worn correctly. Wedding dresses often feature complex fastenings—such as intricate button loops, corset lacing, or delicate closures—that require professional expertise to manage. A trained dresser handles your gown with the necessary care to protect delicate fabrics and embellishments, ensures the perfect fit and positioning, and arranges all details including the train, bustle, veil, and accessories. This service alleviates stress on your wedding morning, allowing you and your loved ones to focus on enjoying the occasion while ensuring you look impeccable and photo-ready.

When should the services be booked?

It is highly recommended to book any of my services as soon as you have secured your date, especially for peak wedding seasons, as I am often only able to book one client per date, with the possibility of two depending on timings.

How long do you stay on the wedding day?

Depending on which service is booked, I typically arrive around two to four hours before you are due to leave for the ceremony and will stay with you until you are ready to walk down the aisle. This will be agreed upon during our initial phone consultation, prior to confirming your booking.

I’m also able to stay longer (depending on availability) to assist with post-ceremony photos or help you change into a second-look dress later in the day. We can arrange a package tailored to your specific needs for an additional fee.

What should I do to prepare for your arrival?

For the Bridal Dressing Service, it really helps everybody if you can provide an area that is large enough for your dress to be hung out with the train down, preferably away from the hair and makeup area to avoid any mishaps. Any other attire that you would like me to check over should also be hung in the same area.

Taking a few minutes to hang your gown out of the dress bag the night before, or first thing in the morning will help the material to breathe and settle.

For both the Bridal Dressing & Professional Steaming Services I require:

  • Access to working electrical outlets
  • Good lighting (natural light is ideal) for service quality
  • Children and pets must be kept away from areas being used for steaming garments, as the steamers get extremely hot

What if we find a stain or a button comes off?

I will come equipped with an emergency kit to handle any minor, unexpected repairs, so you don't need to panic.

(This is for any minor repairs that are discovered at the last minute for example, loose beading, snapped bustles, small stains, tears etc that only require a short amount of time to attend to - not alterations, split seams, or larger jobs that would require expert equipment and time)

Is steaming included in the Bridal Dressing Service?

I will bring a small hand-held steamer on the day, this is suitable for touching up already steamed gowns that only require quick going over to look their best.

If you require a full steaming service, which is recommended for all bridal gowns, this is available as a stand-alone service or can be booked as a package deal.

What is the payment structure?

A 25% (non-refundable) deposit is required for the Bridal Dressing and Steaming Services to secure your booking, the balance is then due 14 days before the wedding/function date.

Please check the Underskirt/Hoop Hire page for payment details.

Do you have any bridal dresses for sale?

I do have a limited number of bridal gowns that are pre-loved / ex-sample. The current selection can be viewed and bought via Stillwhite here.

What days/times are you available to take phone calls?

I will be available to answer calls 10:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday and 10:00 am - 1:00 pm on Saturdays. Please be aware I may be with a client or otherwise engaged; in this case, the call will go to voicemail. If you leave your name and number, I will call you back at the first opportunity.

Alternatively, you can contact me via WhatsApp, email or via one of the contact forms on the Contact Us page.
